About Carne Cruda Podcast
Carne Cruda Podcast is independent Spanish radio built around urgency, argument, and conversation. It does not treat politics as a distant topic. It treats politics as something lodged in bodies, schools, borders, screens, jokes, families, and words. Recent episodes move from Trump, Netanyahu, Iran, Lebanon, and nuclear threat to elite education, public education, extreme thinness, Botox culture, queer expression, and the machosphere. The rhythm is brisk, but not shallow. A charged opening often sets the stakes, sometimes with theatrical anger, sometimes with a joke, sometimes with a direct appeal to the audience-funded nature of the project. Then the program turns outward. Guests are given space to complicate the premise, correct it, expand it, or take it down a more winding path. That interview-centered structure lets the show hold several registers at once: grave geopolitical alarm, comic timing, cultural criticism, personal anecdote, and philosophical wandering. Derroteros, its reflective extra strand, shows the slower side of the same sensibility, using walking, language, literature, and social codes as routes into larger questions. The show is especially strong when it links the visible symptom to the system beneath it. Extreme thinness becomes a political mandate. Elite schooling becomes inherited advantage. Public education becomes a democratic battleground. Queer “pluma” becomes a history of recognition, disguise, shame, and style. International conflict becomes a test of impunity and public numbness. Carne Cruda can be blunt, repetitive, and insistent when it wants the stakes to land. It can also be warm with guests and listeners, letting affection and irritation share the same room. This is not detached analysis. It is radio for people who expect culture to answer to politics, and politics to answer to life.
Made for: For Spanish-language listeners who want politics, culture, and social criticism handled with urgency, humor, and intellectual range. Best suited to people comfortable with opinionated framing and long-form interviews.
What sets it apart: Carne Cruda joins editorial monologue, audience energy, and expansive guest conversation without sanding down its politics. It moves easily from geopolitical crisis to beauty culture or queer language while keeping power at the center.
