The first Scripture gets the room's attention. The message opens Ephesians three with the sense that the Bible still changes ordinary lives. Paul writes from prison in Rome to the church in Ephesus, where darkness, occult practice, and immorality made faith feel anything but casual. The church was planted as light, and that gives the sermon its spine: believers do not have to shrink to fit their surroundings. Then the boat story takes over. The preacher remembers warning his boys not to expect much from deep sea fishing because his own earlier trip had ended empty. That is where the sermon turns. Cancer, debt, provision, blessing, and breakthrough all sit under the same question: does past pain get to define future faith? The closing prayer asks for miracles, breakthrough, a fresh Genesis work, revived hearts, and believers who remember they are not defeated. Resurrection power gets the last word, and expectation starts to sound less like hype and more like surrender.
