Victory Church: Paul Daugherty · Victory Church

HOW DOES THIS END | PAUL DAUGHERTY | JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON PT. 1

·1 hr 6 min·5 clips
Jesus prophesied the temple's destruction, fulfilled 37 years later, warning not to trust in man-made things.
Jesus is coming back soon. That line runs through a sermon that starts in Matthew 24, passes through childhood memories of rapture talk and old end-times movies, and ends with a call to live ready without living scared. The fear is familiar. The host remembers church kids hearing about being left behind, families watching those intense movies, and people carrying real anxiety about death, heaven, hell, and the last days. But fear is a poor shepherd. Scripture pulls the room back to steadier ground: perfect love casts out fear, and a believer's righteousness comes from Jesus, not from shaky personal performance. That changes the whole feel of the message. Instead of bouncing between saved and not saved, the listener is called to confess sin, receive forgiveness, and stand on grace. The sermon keeps drawing a line between readiness and unhealthy fear. One builds faith. The other drains peace. Heaven and hell are treated seriously, but the center is not panic. It is trust in Jesus, his words, his love, his grace, and his salvation. Near the end, the tone turns direct and prayerful. Heads bow, eyes close, and fear gets named out loud. The closing stays warm and urgent: leave with more faith than you brought in, live ready, stop drifting, and trust God in the last days.

As heard by us

Urgent end-times preaching that turns fear into readiness.

The sermon starts with urgency about Jesus coming back soon, but it does not stay in panic mode for long. Matthew 24, childhood church memories, and old end-times movies from the nineties and early 2000s do the setup work, and the point settles on readiness instead of fear.
