Then Walter Gretzky shows up in the conversation. Amber remembers meeting him around the Gretzky Center near her high school, after a basketball camp story briefly turns coaching into counseling. That lack of certainty is part of the fun, especially when a fake Rolling Stones cover-band detail appears and falls apart almost immediately. They still get one useful word out of it. Liverpudlian becomes the fact everyone can keep under a hat, even as Amber seems exhausted by the learning. The close gets practical in the usual scattered way: Downtown Eastside Women's Center, Little Mountain Gallery, YouTube, and a GoFundMe. Then the goodbye arrives, with a whoopee cushion turned into one last missed chance before the Maximum Fun signoff.
