Stop Podcasting Yourself · Graham Clark and Dave Shumka

Episode 941 - Mike Carrozza

March 31, 2026·1 hr 55 min·9 clips
Comedian Mike Carrozza explains why his new hour is built around pigeon jokes and dumb confidence.
Mike Carrozza comes in from Montreal. Graham and Dave start by admitting they missed each other for a couple of weeks, even though listeners still got an episode. That tiny gap becomes the danger. After 18 years, the joke is that one missed week could somehow erase the audience. Mike has a show coming up: an April 9 hour and JFL Showcase at Theatre St. Catherine, with the hour meant to become a special. The room respects that information for about a second. Then the conversation swerves into a Justin Timberlake video, a cop question, and the strangely hard answer that he was on tour. Dave and Graham keep nudging the premise because explaining music touring should not be this difficult, especially when beatboxing and dancing are sitting right there. Then 2003 barges in. Someone remembers Timberlake and Stifler hosting the MTV Movie Awards, which sounds fake until the clips start backing it up. Everyone ends up watching history in real time. The awards show riff turns into a fake prediction ladder, Golden Globes to Oscars, Teen Choice to Video Awards, Kids' Choice to Teen Choice. It is stupid in the best precise way. They keep clocking the onscreen celebrity pileup: Hugh Jackman, Famke Jansen, Jennifer Garner, Yoda, and any X-Men connection that can be grabbed. The whole thing feels like table chatter that found a current. Mike slides into the rhythm, while the hosts build tiny bridges out of half memories and details that suddenly feel mandatory. By the end, Sadie, Carson, the callous down boys, Ashley McKay, and Lomanza drift through the shoutouts before the goodbye fog closes over everything.
