I Can Get This for 28 Cents in Haiti

February 9, 2026·1 hr·5 clips
Robert vents about a woman at TJ Maxx complaining, 'I can get this for 28 cents in Haiti,' questioning why she isn't at work on a Friday afternoon.
Corey and Robert start low-energy but present. One is tired, one is under the weather, and the show has that slightly messy rhythm where it finds its legs while everyone is already talking. The Delta bit gives the opening its shape, with Corey joking that the listener-thank-you patter makes him sound like a flight attendant thanking SkyMile and Medallion members. From there, they move to food. Corey sets up two restaurant reviews and starts with Corey B. Cookin, a place on 23rd Street on the east side of Oklahoma City. He even spells out the name. The review feels less like a formal verdict and more like a workplace errand report: coworkers order, someone picks it up, everyone eats, and the food turns out really good. Then the episode heads outside. Better weather gets Corey walking with Charlotte, who is laser focused, smart, observant, and very aware of where home is. She knows the route. A bathroom break five minutes in sends them back to the trash can, so Charlotte decides the walk must be done. Corey has other plans. He keeps going with podcasts and music on, which is the sort of ordinary setup this show can happily stretch. Across the street, three women approach. Some neighbors wave, some keep moving, and Corey is fine with both. Then one woman picks up her small dog. Corey notices the timing, checks the Yorkie-or-schnauzer size, and starts working through whether the reaction makes sense. Charlotte has not lunged. She watches people and stray cats, but Corey keeps coming back to the same point: observant is not aggressive. That is where the little sidewalk story gets its bite. A passing moment turns into a read on assumptions and how fast people decide what someone else's dog might do. Robert keeps the story grounded with details and small check-ins. The close returns to housekeeping: Apple, Spotify, Amazon, iHeartRadio, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, email, make-it-make-sense submissions, business inquiries, and the usual don't drink and drive seatbelt reminder.

Lunch, dogs, and neighborhood manners carry the episode.

Corey and Robert spend most of the episode making two ordinary stretches of life feel easy to listen to. On Oklahoma City's east side, a late birthday work lunch leads to Corey B. Cookin, and the online pickup order gets a simple verdict: really good, worth tracking down.
