About Yogaland Podcast

Yogaland is a warm, practice-centered yoga show that thinks seriously about how yoga is taught, felt, and carried into daily life. It has the texture of a teacher talking something through carefully, with enough room for personal updates, small jokes, and honest second thoughts. Recent episodes lean strongly into yoga teaching and training. Sequencing is a major concern. The show questions old models of building every class around a single peak pose, while still giving those models their due. It asks what makes a class educational, coherent, and useful over time. That question gives the show its backbone. Jason Crandall often speaks from inside the craft of teaching, naming the constant creative load of building sequences, phrasing, and learning structures. He also addresses the loneliness that can come with teaching, especially when there is no consistent peer group to test ideas against. The tone is supportive, but it does not flatten the work. Burnout, imposter feelings, and isolation are treated as real pressures, not personal failings. Andrea Ferretti adds a grounded conversational presence, and the episodes with both voices have an easy back-and-forth that can move from glasses or dance class into teacher training and Patanjali. The show also makes space for larger reflective ideas, including yoga philosophy, mindfulness, the overview effect, and the value of engaging with the world instead of withdrawing from it. Physical practice remains concrete. Flexibility, mobility, strength, end-range control, spine and core work, and recovery all appear as practical concerns rather than trend arguments. Yogaland is strongest when it turns a familiar yoga-world debate into a usable distinction. Creative movement can matter. Structure still matters. Progress can mean a harder pose, deeper relaxation, better stress response, or simply a more intelligent relationship to practice. For teachers and serious students, that combination of craft, reflection, and everyday candor gives the show its staying power.

Made for: Yogaland is for yoga teachers, teacher trainees, and committed students who want practical thinking about sequencing, mobility, philosophy, and sustainable practice. It especially fits listeners who like reflective teaching without a glossy wellness tone.

What sets it apart: The show treats yoga instruction as a living craft with real creative, emotional, and community demands. Its strongest episodes turn classroom problems into broader principles teachers can actually use.

In their own words

This down-to-earth podcast by Andrea Ferretti (former executive editor of Yoga Journal) will keep informed and inspired to practice yoga. Topics run the gamut from nitty gritty technique (her yoga teacher husband Jason Crandell often joins to help with this) to down-to-earth conversations about how to apply yoga's lessons and tools to help craft a happy, balanced life.
