Big subjects, made graspable.
The gist
Weetikveel builds each episode around one subject and a named guest who can make it less vague. Social fraud, Studio 100, vulvar anatomy, Palestinian refugee status, and Nobel-winning physics all get the same treatment: curious questions, plain analogies, and patient correction.

About Weetikveel
Weetikveel is an explanatory interview show built on the premise that almost any subject can become clear if the right questions keep coming. It is brisk. The format usually puts one guest in the room and lets a topic expand from a practical hook into a wider explanation. Social fraud is not treated as an abstract legal file; it becomes a discussion of social dumping, subcontracting, black wages, fiscal boundaries, and why a welfare system depends on correct use. Studio 100 is not reduced to nostalgia. Hans Bourlon’s episode turns children’s entertainment into a conversation about creative instinct, copy-paste expansion, the risk of making strange choices, and the long life of a story that keeps finding new generations. The anatomy episode is more intimate. Maxime Brusselaars corrects basic terms, separates vulva from vagina, and speaks plainly about arousal, orgasm, bodily response, and the long neglect of female sexuality in research and education. The episode on Palestinian refugees has a different weight. Masht Khalife explains inherited refugee status, statelessness, UNRWA registration, Egyptian papers, and the absurdity of being born somewhere yet remaining legally foreign there. Then the show can turn again, suddenly, to theoretical physics. François Anclair, Peter Hicks, CERN, proton collisions, microwave acceleration, and the Higgs particle are handled through simple images rather than foggy prestige. That elasticity is the point. Weetikveel moves from paperwork to playground culture, from sex education to displacement, from family brands to particle tunnels. It is conversational without becoming loose. The questions can be naive on purpose, because the show uses naive questions to force precise answers. Guests are allowed to correct, qualify, and reframe. The result is a compact general-knowledge show with a public-radio spine: curious, practical, sometimes grave, and usually clearer by the end than it was at the start.
Made for: For listeners who like explanatory interviews that start with everyday confusion and end with a sharper mental map. It suits curious generalists who want law, culture, science, bodies, and world affairs without theatrical hype.
What sets it apart: Weetikveel’s strength is its range paired with its stubborn plainness: it can move from Studio 100 to Palestinian statelessness to CERN without changing its basic method. The show keeps asking small, clarifying questions until knowledge becomes speakable.
In their own words
Why you'd press play
One question sends Kobe Ilsen from K3 pigs to proton accelerators, and somehow you keep up.
Press play if you want
- an expert to explain proton accelerators without leaving you at CERN's front gate
- frank answers about vulvas and arousal, minus the schoolbook blush
