Stary Gracz

Stary Gracz is a Polish gaming and pop-culture conversation show with a strong memory for shelves, formats, editions, and the stories attached to them. It is not a clean news desk. It is a table conversation with guests who know why one game, book, comic, event, or fan project can send someone sideways into twenty related memories. The Extra episodes lean heavily on interviews. Rafał Szycha-Szychowski usually starts from biography or taste: where a fascination began, what stayed important, which title still matters, and why. From there, the talk loosens. Marcin Tomkowiak aka Sakora brings threads around Japanese pop culture, Gundam, Akira, comics, and formative science fiction books. Those episodes feel like sorting through a personal canon without pretending it is universal. Carl Sagan, favorite authors, adaptations, No Man's Sky collectibles, and console-era fatigue all sit close together. The Resident Evil conversation with Artur Ściok, known as Revil or Mr. Revil, has the same texture but through horror games, camera perspectives, nostalgia, and community expectations. It treats the series as both design object and personal history. Krzysztof Żwirski's visit shifts the frame toward writing about games and pop culture online, especially longer Facebook essays and the way streaming-era television changes viewing habits. The esports episode from Kraków, with Wojtek Krzemień and Antoni, moves into Intel Extreme Masters, team training, diet, psychology, match economy, and the difference between playing casually and competing seriously. That range is the point. Stary Gracz is broad, but it is broad through people rather than segments. The show can sound excited, nostalgic, dry, or mildly exasperated, often within the same exchange. Its strength is concrete detail: titles, platforms, scenes, TV schedules, collector editions, tournaments, and the practical routines behind fandom. It suits listeners who prefer digressive expertise over polished capsules. The payoff is the feeling of sitting near people who have played, read, watched, collected, argued, and kept caring long after the trend cycle moved on.
