Sisters in Crime – Frauen, die töten

Sisters in Crime is a German-language true-crime series about cases where women are accused, implicated, harmed, or publicly examined in relation to severe violence and abuse. Its usual rhythm is calm but tense. A case often opens with a sharply drawn place: a neat suburban street, a hospital room, a celebrity party, a family home, a forest where police find evidence of violence. From there, the show builds a timeline and lets the emotional stakes surface slowly. It is interested in motive, but not in easy answers. Recent episodes consider neonatal deaths, conflicting accounts in a revenge killing, the role of faith and desire in a relationship case, and allegations involving a pop star. The briefing episodes broaden the frame toward current public stories, including an actor’s account of domestic terror and the silence around sexual violence when the accused is a woman. Another episode turns toward animal cruelty and the systems that make suffering easier to ignore. That range gives the show a wider lens than a narrow serial-killer format. It often asks why people look away, who gets believed, and how power changes a story before a courtroom ever hears it. The hosts’ conversational style gives the material a human temperature. Short reactions sit beside longer narrative passages. The show can be blunt about cruelty, but it usually returns to context, procedure, psychology, and the people left behind. It is especially strong when it pauses over contradictions: spontaneous rage versus planning, public image versus private harm, victimhood versus agency, sympathy versus accountability. Listeners should expect heavy subject matter, including child harm, sexual violence, domestic abuse, graphic crime scenes, and animal cruelty. The appeal is not comfort. It is careful attention to cases that are often simplified because the accused, the victim, or the witness does not fit the usual true-crime script.
