Gentle bedtime journeys through remembered places.

The gist

Larissa's Moonlit Tales is a soft-spoken collection of bedtime stories shaped for sleep, comfort, and easy English listening. Its episodes linger over tea fields in Java, a mountain coffee shop, botanical gardens, wetlands, island traditions, and the depths of Carlsbad Caverns.

About Larissa's Moonlit Tales

Larissa's Moonlit Tales is built for the edge of sleep. The episodes move slowly, with stories that prefer description, memory, and gentle movement over conflict. Many begin from the perspective of a young person noticing the world carefully. A road in Java is not just a road; it is dense jungle, changing shades of green, a family relocation from the United States to Indonesia, a friend and chauffeur named Mr. Anis, volcanoes, Jakarta traffic, and a roadside ear of corn that tastes like home. The show finds comfort in exact places. One story settles into a small mountain village where an old cafe becomes a family business, complete with worn wooden floors, Victorian tin ceiling tiles, homemade food, skiers, tourists, friends, and the steady ring of the door. Another follows a grandmother called Mimi through botanical gardens and an arboretum, where Monet, azaleas, maps, bronze frogs, oil paint, and a lakeside picnic all become part of the afternoon. Nothing needs to rush. The quiet is the point. Larissa's Moonlit Tales also has a strong travel-and-learning thread, from Indonesian words and island geography to Carlsbad Caverns National Park and its underground rooms. The show treats natural beauty as enough drama on its own. Caves can be magnificent. A garden can be a destination. A cafe can hold a whole family story. The educational pieces arrive inside the walk, the drive, or the memory, so the tone stays soft rather than instructional. It is also clearly made for listeners who want repeatable bedtime comfort, including children, families, anxious sleepers, and people practicing English through clear, unhurried narration. The episodes repeatedly remind listeners that they are safe for all ages. They also emphasize human-made stories, usually drawn from memory or imagination rather than generated by AI. Its best moments are small and specific. A bite of corn, a paintbrush touching canvas, a baby entering a coffee shop, or the awe of a cave can become a complete emotional landing place. The series suits anyone who wants bedtime audio that feels kind, grounded, and quietly observant.

Made for: Best for children, families, anxious sleepers, and adults who like calm story audio without sharp turns. It also suits English learners who benefit from clear pacing and concrete descriptive language.

What sets it apart: The show pairs sleep-focused narration with detailed place memories, so each episode feels like a slow walk through a real setting rather than a generic relaxation script. Its comfort comes from family, travel, nature, food, and ordinary wonder.

In their own words

Hello, Dreamer! I'm Larissa and I am a real person, not AI. I know how it feels to be exhausted but unable to sleep because of anxiety. I wrote and recorded these stories to give my listeners something calm to think about. When our brains are engaged with a soothing story, it is easier to relax and fall asleep. I also wanted to remind us, myself included, of the beautiful and good things in life. Almost all of these stories are inspired by my own memories. I tend to write them from a young person's perspective, usually a young teen...

The Tea FieldsMay 6, 2026

A calm childhood journey through Java lets the setting and small comforts carry the story.

Larissa's story stays close to memory, moving from Jakarta into the hills and tea fields of Java without hurrying to force a plot. The scenes are drawn with care: layers of green, tropical flowers, butterflies, jungle, volcanoes, and the small routines of family life and school.

The Tin Coffee CupApr 29, 2026

A cozy mountain cafe story told with calm, patient detail.

The episode settles into the Tin Coffee Cup and lets the setting do a lot of the work. Worn wooden floors, Victorian tin ceiling tiles, pale yellow walls, light blue curtains with yellow daisies, and mismatched antiques give the cafe a plain, lived-in charm.

Painting in the GardenApr 22, 2026

A quiet garden walk turns painting into a calm, restful ritual.

Painting in the Gardens keeps things soft and unhurried. A narrator and her grandmother head to a botanical garden and arboretum, unpack art supplies, and settle in to paint azaleas, frogs, trees, and the lake below the hill.

StonehengeMar 4, 2026

A calm Stonehenge story that pairs wonder with plainspoken history.

Larissa's Moonlit Tales follows a visit to Stonehenge with a calm mix of memory, travel, and wonder. It starts in pasture and spongy grass, then moves into easy curiosity about megaliths, solstices, and the monument's age.

The Closest Thing to FlyingFeb 25, 2026

A quiet ski-day story that turns snow, skill, and speed into a soft landing.

"The Closest Thing to Flying" takes its shape from a winter ski day and the slow, satisfying moment when skill starts to click. Larissa moves through the mountain with careful sensory detail: cold air, lift towers, blue runs, a bowl of fresh snow at the top, and the rush of…
