Fescoe & Dusty

Fescoe & Dusty is local Kansas City sports radio with a morning-show motor and a fan’s memory. The show lives in the emotional swing between Chiefs certainty and Royals dread. One hour can be all NFL draft math: Brett Veach’s press conference, a top 10 pick, trade-up paths, offensive tackle depth, pass rush needs, and whether Ruben Bain Jr. is worth chasing. The next can be a Royals autopsy. The bullpen gets picked apart by name, the offense gets measured against expectations, and a three-game series in New York becomes a test of whether a bad start is just bad or already getting late. The show does not float above the fan base. It argues from inside it. Kansas City geography matters, including the Kansas-Missouri line, downtown ballpark debates, stadium anxiety, and the simple demand that the Chiefs and Royals stay in the metro. The pacing is busy. Text-line reactions, producer exchanges, sports movie detours, travel stories, Taco Bell jokes, NBA play-in complaints, and Mike Trout nostalgia all feed the same larger habit: turn the day’s sports noise into something local and arguable. Fill-in voices such as Logan Weber and Nathan Williams keep the show flexible, while guests like Jordan Foote and Nate Taylor bring reporting texture to Chiefs draft talk. The mood can be funny, impatient, sentimental, or blunt within a few minutes. It is strongest when a take is being worked out in real time, with records, schedules, positional value, and recent scars all thrown onto the table. For Kansas City listeners, that is the point. Fescoe & Dusty sounds less like a polished national product than a daily argument at the center of the local sports group chat.
