Daredevil: Born Again S2 E4 & Marvel: Armageddon with Wolverine, Captain America, & Doom on XI4C!

·1 hr 7 min·5 clips

Nico reveals a dramatic new X-Men event image showing Scott Summers fighting Beast, sparking immediate debate.

The episode opens with Nico and TK reacting to Marvel's announcement of the DNX X-Men event, particularly an image depicting Scott Summers fighting Beast. TK expresses skepticism about Marvel's editorial decisions, criticizing Tom Brevoort and questioning Jen McKay's fit for the X-Men line. The hosts speculate that Marvel's comics are in a holding pattern until MCU X-Men casting is announced, likely at Comic-Con. They debate Marvel's promotional strategy, weighing whether to hype the upcoming 'Doomsday' film or pivot to X-Men announcements. The conversation shifts to comic reviews, starting with Chip Zdarsky's Captain America run (issues 1-8) as part of the 'Road to Armageddon.' Nico praises Zdarsky's writing, recommending it as a strong entry point for the event. They discuss supporting titles like 'Will of Doom' and 'Dungeons of Doom,' noting their connections to the broader Marvel universe. The hosts analyze character portrayals, including Nick Fury Jr. and Red Hulk, and touch on the fallout from 'One World Under Doom.' The second half focuses on Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 4. They discuss Bullseye's integration into the plot, contrasting it with typical streaming 'bottle episodes.' Kingpin's boxing storyline is examined, drawing parallels to Matt Murdock's father and exploring Wilson Fisk's motivations. The hosts critique the use of actors like Lily Taylor and Matthew Lillard, questioning their roles' impact. They speculate on Vanessa's stabbing and potential consequences, as well as dynamics between characters like Buck and Daniel. The episode concludes with reflections on the show's connection to the broader MCU and its execution compared to the Netflix series.
