Women of Golf - Season 12 Episode 5 | April 1st, 2025

Karen Palacios-Jansen reveals why golfers need fitness to swing at 80 mph and burn 1000 calories per round.
The conversation stays firmly in golf fitness. After the sponsor-heavy opening, the useful part is the speaker explaining how players can figure out what their bodies actually need. Start with a screen. The speaker names strength, stability, flexibility, and mobility as the categories worth checking before choosing a routine. Most players already have a hunch. The speaker says men often need more mobility and flexibility, while women often need more strength and stability, but does not treat that as a rule. The point is to find the first weak link and start there. Flexibility is the example. If a player is tight, the speaker suggests movement, mobility work, and a pre-round warmup routine before piling on more. The advice is nicely grounded. Five or ten minutes every day is better than waiting around for a perfect two-hour block. That block usually does not show up. And when it does, a long workout can leave the player wiped out without helping much. Small work can build. Five minutes becomes ten or fifteen, and then the habit has somewhere to go. Mobility comes before more work. Once the body moves better, flexibility, strength, stability, and endurance can start helping each other. The practical target is 30 minutes three or four times a week, even if that means ten minutes in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
