We're Alive: Descendants - Chapter 17 - Dining With the Devil - Part 1 of 3

June 3, 2025·38 min·2 clips
The rings on his hand tell a story of four family members who crossed the wrong man.
The episode opens with Angel Tenudo Sr. arriving at the family compound, immediately creating tension with his intimidating presence and interest in Vera. Oliver quickly arranges for a formal family dinner to manage the situation, but privately reveals shocking information to Vera about the family's dark history. He explains that Angel Sr., known as the Angel of Death, wears rings belonging to four family members he killed during internal vendettas, and that he was originally next in line to be patriarch before going missing. Oliver suspects either Vincent or Angel Sr. killed Michael, possibly as revenge for Angel Jr.'s death. The truth about Angel Jr.'s fate was hidden from the published survival story - he wasn't killed in the tower collapse but was actually executed by Claire 'Scratch' Amsel, who also killed Darai Blackburn. This cover-up may have motivated the Tenutos' revenge against Michael, whom they blame for Angel Jr.'s death. Oliver warns Vera that Angel Sr. likely resents losing his position as patriarch and could be dangerous, but asks for her help in uncovering the truth. Meanwhile, Vera confides in Will about the situation, and Will reveals he's discovered a hidden passageway in their room that could potentially be an escape route. In a parallel storyline, Nick and Will are traveling on a Republic train using stolen contractor identities, heading toward the city of Justice to find Nick's mother. During their journey, they accidentally encounter Chancellor Friedrich, the head of the Republic government, who invites them to dine with him, unaware that they are fugitives from Westport. The episode builds tension around multiple deceptions and hidden identities while setting up dangerous confrontations.

As heard by us

A clipped, wary chapter that turns one missing answer into the room's main problem.

The chapter keeps circling familiar tension: Vera pushes for the truth, the other side keeps slipping away from it, and the missing details around Vincent do most of the heavy lifting.
