HOLLOW DISCIPLE - Episode 2 - Fragmented

December 26, 2025·20 min·1 clip
Lars finds freshly severed fingers on the floor, later identified as belonging to the crew member Murphy.
The episode opens with a flashback scene on Katera Station, showing how Lars was nearly scammed into loading cargo for a fraudulent crew listing. Captain Tanvir and Rosa intervene, with Tanvir offering Lars a paid trial shift aboard the Elpis — a ship whose name means hope. Back in the present, Lars falls from a suspended corridor inside the derelict vessel into a vast open space below, saved by voice-activated impact gel. Rosa talks him through recovery and Lars notes the corridor appeared to have no wall support beneath it — the ship's architecture continues to confound them. To pass time while Lars searches for a ladder, Rosa tells a story about one of her earliest salvage finds: a colony boat from Katera that lost engine and navigation simultaneously, leaving families to drift for months until starvation set in and the survivors resorted to cannibalism. Rosa uses this as an argument that coming out the other side of the worst is something she and Lars have already done, and they can do it again. Lars hears an ambiguous sound — human but not quite — and follows it deeper into the vessel. He discovers severed bloody fingers on the floor, confirmed by tattoos to be Murphy's, with blood still fresh. Rosa shifts to medical emergency protocols. Lars follows the trail to a room where he finds Murphy dead from blunt force trauma to the head, with no weapon visible. Rosa refuses to believe Captain Tanvir could be responsible. Lars then analyses a bloody thumbprint on a workbench corner and the position of Murphy's cauterised finger stumps and tentatively suggests Murphy may have caused his own injuries. Rosa erupts in fury, accusing Lars of making unfounded assumptions, defending Murphy's character, and then — in a moment of spiralling anger — suggesting Lars himself could have been the killer all along. The episode ends with Rosa cutting off communication.
