S2E6 Part 1: A Dash of Danger

·21 min·10 clips
The scene starts in the middle of a problem. Quintavious is told to turn it up to level 10, the interrogation gets nastier by the second, and somebody keeps trying to pry a secret loose while another voice argues that killing the prisoner would wreck their best shot at figuring out the secret. A voice message interrupts the noise. Fabian gets a call from Cassandra asking whether he will be at work today, and the whole thing is treated like ancient communication tech until somebody realizes the message might be worth keeping because humans are addicted to these. The conversation then swerves into bigger ideas. They talk through the black profile pics, land on the idea that they are kings and queens in origin, and spin out a wild history involving 40,000 acres, two mules, Fabian being sent on vacation, and communication eventually breaking down until he was captured. Queen Columbus steps in as the bigger threat. She is from White Earth, is described as an intergalactic madwoman, and is known for conquering and stealing resources, while the Founders are framed as destroyers. Orgen becomes the next concern. Its people are peaceful, but only until they are not, and if Columbus has already beaten Orgen, Earth may not be able to stop her either. Birthday pressure hangs over everything. They do not want to go into space this close to a birthday, but the conversation lands on the idea that the universe gave them their powers for a reason and that backing out would be a waste of what they can do. The decision gets made. Protocol gets overruled, release forms get signed, suits get handed out, and the mission is set: get to the Orgen safe haven and stop Columbus before the danger spreads further. Beta comes with them. The program bot assistant is coded with mostly Real Housewives language, Cassandra says she lost visitation privileges to Orgen when she became Miss White and will be working from home, and the crew still finds time to argue over a group name, with C4 getting pitched because it blows shit up.
