Jodi would have loved this one. Joanna Robinson and Rob Mahoney open on her absence, treating it as both a real loss and a joke they can keep tossing around. They borrow her kind of line about men, advocacy, and power, then let Kenny's return give the recap its first jolt. Eric's line about power as something nerve-jangling to preserve feels exactly like the kind of thing Jodi would have pounced on. Then Yaz takes over the conversation. The hosts trace how she has moved out of chaos and scandal into a marriage that gives her status, access, and a colder version of comfort. Nobody is calling it happiness. Yaz seems to know the trade she is making, which makes it worse. Henry matters because power collects around him. Backing him helps Yaz build her own position, even when the people around them are plainly rotten. The painting does a lot of work. Before the Hitler signature fully lands, Joanna and Rob argue that Yaz already knows who she is choosing to stand beside. That is the nasty joke: she is not drifting into compromise. She is walking there because it gets her closer to what she wants. Harper's old point comes back hard. Joanna links Yaz and Whitney Halberstram through white-passing privilege, while pointing out how differently Harper's team would move in those rooms. The boardroom image is blunt: white men clustered together, an antisemitic jab, Jonah pushed out. The question is who gets protection in this world. The humor stays dry, even when they are riffing on the worst possible social clip and admitting how badly they miss Jodi's read. The season suddenly feels short. Three episodes in, an eight-episode run is already almost halfway over, and the machinery is only getting uglier.
