Norwegian singer Natalie Abel explains why writer's block signals a deeper personal issue needing inner work.

Station business clears the runway first. After the SBW Law and LCR Club 100 notices, the conversation eases into a gentle music chat with a guest who grew up chasing melodies. Valerie gets a warm nod. So does Aretha, part of the old-school sound the guest keeps circling back to when she listens and writes. She started young. By three, little melodies were already forming, and by seven she was trying to put together a girl band. Writing is the root of it. Singing sounds less like a separate talent here and more like the way she sends the words and feeling out into the room. Then writer's block comes up, and her answer is refreshingly plain. She does not treat it like a technical problem. If the words dry up, she reads that as a sign that something else in her life needs attention.
