WE'RE BACKKK! Kraken Reaction: 2024 season preview, who will rise from the deep, and playoffs?! NHL News: Gaudreau brothers remembered. 3 Stars of the Week.

·1 hr 38 min
Jeff and Joey are back, and they sound like it. The pod opens season four of Kraken hockey with a little rust, plenty of energy, and the usual fan-fueled chaos. They frame the show as a Kraken reaction episode, a season-four preview, and a forecast for who might rise from the deep. They also spend time grading where the team stands before the year gets rolling. The playoff question gets a straight yes-or-no answer instead of a polite dodge. After that, the conversation spills outward into the NHL at large. Division winners get picked. So does the President's Trophy. They even get into the Stanley Cup Finals and the Selkie race. The summer has not exactly been normal, and they do not pretend otherwise. There is tragedy in the mix, and they treat it with seriousness. Then the show moves through free-agency weirdness, because of course it does. That is part of the league's summer texture, and they lean into it. The hosts also bring back their Three Stars of the Week bit. That gives the episode a familiar closing lane after all the offseason noise. Somewhere in the middle of it all, the pod lands on the kind of hopeful Kraken talk that fans live for. Shane Wright comes up as the big swing, with the hosts convinced the role, the body, and the coaching all point toward a real breakout. Joey Decord and Philip Grubauer get a steady vote of confidence, with the crease treated like a problem that is going to sort itself out. Jeff and Joey sound like two guys trying to talk themselves, and everyone else, into the belief that this thing can actually climb. It is messy, funny, blunt, and very much the Kraken pod coming back to life.
