What's New about the New Apostolic Reformation? with Chris Quintana (Part 2)

October 25, 2025·26 min·2 clips
Tom McMahon warns that the New Apostolic Reformation is a tsunami catching millions of Christians in its spider web.
NAR is the burden. Tom McMahon picks up his conversation with Chris Quintana by naming the New Apostolic Reformation as something he believes is moving through the church with unusual force. Chris is back as guest, introduced as pastor of Calvary Chapel, Cyprus, in Orange County, and as a voice from Wide is the Gate. The mood is grave without getting theatrical. Tom treats the subject as more serious than a passing trend and asks Chris to keep tracing the appeal. The main concern is discernment. Chris says the most vulnerable people are the ones who are not Bereans, people who are not checking claims by the word of God. Bethel gets close attention. Tom names Bethel Church and its School of Supernatural Ministry as a major camp in the movement, with IHOP, the International House of Prayer, nearby in the discussion. Young people sit at the center of it. Asked why they are drawn in, Chris starts with music, then adds the pull of something flashy, edgy, and unfamiliar. He contrasts that with Calvary Chapel reaching young people in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In his telling, Chuck moved them toward Bible teaching instead of spectacle. Acts 17 becomes the test case. The Berean pattern is simple: receive teaching with readiness, then search Scripture to see whether it holds up. Music gets real weight here. Chris says Jesus Culture songs are already being sung in conservative churches, even when end-times assumptions still leak through the lyrics. The critique stays pastoral. Tom does not reduce the attraction to rebellion. The danger, as the episode frames it, is zeal, style, and ministry branding racing ahead of biblical testing. The close lands back in the obvious place: get into the Bible daily and search the Scriptures instead of trusting a movement's own pitch.
