In 1829 Naples, Arturo and Giuseppe commission a fire-breathing serpent prop to fake King Francis's death, but the plan falls through. Arturo meets Fiorella, a glass harmonica player who reveals the instrument allows her to see the future, including her own death by serpent, leading Arturo to offer faking her death so she can pursue her dream of glassblowing in Croatia.
