Texas Rangers - Smart Kill

April 7, 2026·30 min·2 clips
Pearson finds both entry doors padlocked from the outside while still locked, and declares this was not an accident but deliberate murder with malice.
The fire leaves a body behind. Jace Pearson and the sheriff question Mrs. Taylor, and she gives them just enough to work with, not enough to trust. Her husband is away, she says. He is in Dallas at the Barclay, and the last call came the night before last. Pearson keeps steering the talk back to the dead man. Mrs. Taylor would rather talk about who set the fire, but Pearson will not let the case slide off the body. Then the room gives them something else. The sheriff hears the rear door, and Pearson has already seen a man running from the house. That changes the whole feel of the interview. The man looks like Arturo Ramirez, the foreman tied to the Taylor business, which makes the story wobble. If Taylor is in Dallas, Ramirez has no obvious business inside the house that day. Pearson does not dress it up. The next stop is the Barclay Hotel, where Mrs. Taylor's story has to meet a clerk and a clock. By five o'clock, Pearson and the sheriff are in the Dallas lobby. The case moves on small, stubborn facts: a call, a messy house, a slammed door, a man at the window. Talk does not clear anyone here. Every answer either pins someone down or makes the next question worse.
