How to Get in Touch with Jesus – Bro. Ricky Gravley

March 19, 2026·38 min·3 clips
A woman with a 12-year illness decides to touch Jesus' garment, believing it will make her whole.
Open Matthew chapter nine. The message starts with thanks for Pastor Treber, North Valley, Brother Cox, pastors, and a church meeting that clearly did the preacher good. Then the sermon tightens around a simple plea: seek Jesus with faith, urgency, and an honest need. He speaks as if the room cannot afford to stay at arm's length from the help it came for. Come close enough, by faith, to touch Him. Church gets treated like a mercy, not a calendar item. Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, revival nights, mission nights, and youth nights all belong on the path. Keep the doors open. He is glad his children grew up under the shadow of the steeple, and he pushes back against wanting less church as the day approaches. The sanctuary is a good path. So is the service, if listeners stop rushing to escape and come ready for what God is doing. The Scriptures are a good path too: read them, study them, memorize them, share them, and let the Word sharpen believers together. Prayer is another good path. D.L. Moody comes up with the plain contrast between talking to God and hearing God speak through Bible reading. Again and again, the sermon returns to the same place. Bring the real need straight to Jesus. Do not hide behind formality, distance, or delay. Ask Him for what you need. The closing prayer asks God to help the room touch Him, with every need already known before anyone says it aloud.
