1. Mystery and Murder: Analysis by Dr. Phil centers on the disappearance of Stacey Ann Peterson from Bolingbrook, Illinois. 2. Dr. Phil is the host, and Drew Peterson is the husband at the center of the case because his statements and behavior drive the investigation. 3. The episode asks whether Stacey Peterson vanished because she left voluntarily or because her disappearance fits a darker pattern around Drew Peterson. 4. Stacey Ann Peterson disappeared on October 28, 2007, and investigators found no signs of a struggle, no goodbye note, no phone calls, and no sightings. 5. Drew Peterson told police that Stacey had left him for another man and said he last spoke with her around 10 a.m. wearing a blue jacket. 6. He also said he found her car at a local airport, drove it home without notifying investigators, and did not report her missing until late the next day. 7. Friends and family said Stacey adored her two young children and would not have left them without explanation. 8. The host stresses that Stacey's behavior had to be judged against her baseline, not against generic assumptions about mothers. 9. Investigators and witnesses described the disappearance as inconsistent with Stacey's routine, finances, and contact patterns because her bank accounts stayed untouched and her phone went silent. 10. The episode says the home showed no broken furniture or obvious signs of conflict, which made the silence around the disappearance stand out. 11. Dr. Phil frames Drew Peterson as controlling, citing claims that he monitored Stacey's clothing, phone use, movements, and money. 12. The episode also notes that Stacey had started recording conversations and telling friends where important documents were hidden. 13. Stacey told loved ones that she was considering divorce, and her sister recalled her saying, "if anything ever happens to me, Drew did something." 14. Drew Peterson was 45 when he married 19-year-old Stacey, creating a 26-year age gap that the host connects to power imbalance. 15. The episode describes Drew Peterson as a Bolingbrook Police Department sergeant who used his badge and law-enforcement familiarity to shape how he dealt with police. 16. The host says Drew gave interviews quickly, smiled on camera, and in an April 2008 Larry King Live appearance said, "Stacey loves male attention." 17. Dr. Phil's tone is confrontational and analytical, with repeated references to deception detection, baseline behavior, and narcissism. 18. The format mixes case chronology, psychological interpretation, and direct quotations from Drew Peterson, Stacey's relatives, and investigators. 19. Listeners interested in true crime, domestic abuse dynamics, and police misconduct would likely follow this episode. 20. Listeners wanting a light, unresolved, or non-crime discussion will probably skip it.
