Welcome to the Horizon 2.6: Scorpion Bowl

March 24, 2026·2 hr 2 min·9 clips
A character awakens on the astral plane and meets an alien consciousness who explains they're outside time and space, watching their life like a museum.
The alarms are social, not mechanical. Video feeds fail, the elevators go dark, and whatever is happening no longer looks like Verge. Then the bar fight hits. Celeste reports from the casino floor with a scorpion bowl in hand, because apparently the bartender is still doing great work while everything else falls apart. June has made a mess again. The chaos is not random, though. Everyone keeps calling the plan fake, then keeps following it anyway. A beverage cart has a switch. Someone hits it. Frank may need help near the freight elevator, and the whole operation starts moving fast through real danger. Then the escape route gets tighter. Everyone is supposed to gather at the mouth of the cave and wait for a ship to appear outside it. Malu does not buy this. The True Trans Traveler may be coming, but desperate people have already been trapped here because they trusted someone they did not know. Didra asks twice anyway. That is where the scene bites. Hope does not arrive as comfort. It arrives as one more thing exhausted people are asked to carry. Malu names the damage plainly. People with power keep treating desperate people like property. They take them, then throw them away when they want. Didra cannot fix that with a speech. The closest thing to an answer is that surviving the world other people built should never have counted as a crime. So the episode keeps two engines running. One is switches, elevators, casino panic, and a hole blown through a wall. The other is a bruised argument about whether belief can fairly be asked of anyone. The joke keeps moving. The hurt does too, which is a problem when the plan depends on running toward a ship nobody in the room can trust yet.
