Emily is the kind of kid who is always breaking stuff. Never on purpose, but she has a hard time being gentle. Her family knows it, and her brother Zach stays on alert because even a sweet hug once sent him to the hospital with a broken bone. The story treats her clumsiness like a real planetary threat. Emily keeps trying to be careful, but careful is not really her setting. Zach keeps telling her to take it easy, slow down, and basically stop moving. Then the impossible happens. A stomp on the ground cracks the Earth right down the middle. The parents stay glued to the TV, and nobody can quite believe a girl stomping on the ground could cause something like this. Zach immediately starts looking for a way to fix the problem. He even tries to make the split sound fun, tossing out ideas like giving each half a new name or splitting the kids and grown-ups between sides. Emily, meanwhile, just wants no more stomps. They head upstairs to talk through the damage, and Zach explains that broken things usually get fixed or replaced. Emily jokes that the store selling new Earths is probably sold out of fresh planets. So they settle on repair. That leads them to a hardware store where Zach calmly asks for Earth glue as if this were a normal errand. The clerk is confused, which makes sense. A scientist finally shows up with a solution involving bubble wrap and marshmallows, which is exactly the kind of nonsense the story has been promising from the start. The episode ends with a question about what listeners last broke, and whether they were able to fix or replace it.
