When to Get Offline For Online Business

“People come for the content, but they stay for the community.”
Chris opens from the co-founder seat. With no guest this time, he makes a plainspoken case for leaving the screen, even when the whole business lives online. Start with customers. His point is simple: being near customers and prospective customers gives a builder a kind of feedback online tools can miss. England gives him the example. He has just come back from Retain, a conference for membership site owners, course creators, and coaches, where some people were using Lifter LMS and other WordPress tools. The lesson lands quickly. If an online business serves real people, the founder needs to spend time in rooms where those people talk. From there, he moves into masterminds. Chris treats masterminding as one of the better offline habits because people on similar paths can bring problems, ask for help, and offer something useful back. The idea is old, and he ties it to Napoleon Hill and Think and Grow Rich, but the value comes through his own routine: three or four masterminds, some formal and some more organic. The groups he seems to value most are the ones built around monthly meetings and steady support. Online versions can help. Still, he keeps coming back to the difference between messaging through tools and sitting with people who are working through similar problems. Slack can keep a connection warm. It cannot fully replace being together in person. Chris closes with clicks and bricks, a useful phrase for online business owners who forget that communities, emails, and platforms still lead back to people in physical places. Go where customers gather, build peer circles, and let offline contact make the online work better.
