How to Build a 100,000 Subscriber Email List

·38 min·1 clip
The money is in the list: each email subscriber is worth $3-5 in recurring revenue.
Chris treats email as the operating center of his business. It is a marketing channel, but he also uses it for support, prospecting, sales, warming up an audience, making offers, delivering value, and getting a product or service into people's hands. The numbers give the episode some bite. More than 100,000 people have joined his list, and he gives a current count of about 115,000 before turning that experience into setup advice. This is a solo teaching episode, so the pace is Chris moving straight from why email matters into how people actually give permission. He starts with consent. Some people want one specific thing from you, he says, and they may not want every weekly, twice-weekly, or monthly email after that. That is where the mechanics matter. One signup form will not cover every intent. Chris recommends offering a few list-entry paths that match what people came for. The newsletter is one option. The podcast email subscription is another, with an automated RSS-driven campaign in ActiveCampaign sending each new episode with a summary and graphic. Lead magnets get the most attention. Chris points to the Lifter LMS blog and podcast sidebars, where about five offers exchange useful material for an email address and permission to follow up. The advice stays practical. He names the opt-in, says where it lives on the site, and ties it back to future communication without assuming everybody wants the same cadence. The sponsor read also fits the subject. Popup Maker comes up through Chris's own use cases, including lead magnet opt-ins, card abandonment, upsells, downsells, and nudging users toward helpful content. He ends by inviting questions, then points listeners back to the podcast email subscription and the Lifter LMS gift page.
