H!TITDS - Jack-O (1995)

October 20, 2025·1 hr 18 min·6 clips
Richard and Jeffo kick off the Halloween season by diving into the forgotten 1995 horror film 'Jacko' and its bizarre production.
Halloween is already in the room. Richard starts with seasonal goofing, brings in Jeffrey as his spooky partner, and gets right to Jack-O, a 1995 movie from Steve Latshaw. The talk stays loose. They wander through Latshaw's IMDb presence, his oversized hat, and his early work with Fred Olin Ray, treating the credits as part of the fun instead of homework. Then suburbia starts acting strange. Sean and his friends move through the neighborhood while Robbie talks up Jacko, the rhyme, and Vivian, the local witch figure. Robbie is all threat and no follow-through. His rock barely lands, yet Vivian turns that tiny bit of hostility into a whole neighborhood glare session. The hosts clearly enjoy that awkward, almost-a-scene feeling. They keep coming back to how much of the movie runs on small, clumsy moments that somehow become charming. Sean's family is planning a haunted garage, and Jeffrey's correction of haunted house into haunted garage gives the conversation exactly the kind of silly detail it wants. Charity gets pulled into the setup too, with the parents collecting money for the poor and giving the Halloween staging a strangely earnest edge. Elsewhere, a beer-drinking crew of good-time Charlies heads out, makes dumb choices, and eventually disturbs Jacko's grave. The movie doubles down on clutter. Richard and Jeffrey notice the two sets of opening credits and the two groups of good-time Charlies, which makes the whole thing feel proudly overpacked. By the end, the episode drifts into archive plugs, YouTube directions, and Richard Glenn Schmidt's movie books while keeping its homegrown horror-club feel.
