H!TITDS - Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)

October 31, 2025·1 hr 12 min·6 clips
Brad and Richard discuss the 1995 Halloween sequel everyone hates, promising spoilers and focusing on the theatrical cut.
Richard and Brad arrive already deep in the bit. The opening drifts from heavenly fright lyrics to Mitchell Myers, Howard Myers, and whether anyone could really be scared of a grown man named Howie. The movie on deck is Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. They warn that it will be spoiled, then treat the warning like part of the Halloween clutter. The pace is loose, but they keep finding the movie's strangest threads. Plot points get grabbed, mocked, corrected, and tied back to earlier Halloween lore before the next odd detail wanders in. A sweepstakes read somehow fits right into it. Spencer Gifts, the Sci-Fi Channel, postcards, skull masks, and Universal Studios Florida all end up in the same pile of seasonal promo weirdness. Danny walking with his pumpkin gets the movie talk moving. Tommy Doyle runs into him in a callback to the original Halloween, only this Tommy apologizes after the pumpkin damage. That apology turns into a Michael Myers joke, because of course it does. The bigger problem is Tommy himself. He comes off suspicious, spaced out, and tangled up in the Thorn material the movie keeps waving at the audience. Richard and Brad do not let him off easy. His behavior around Kara, especially watching her while she changes, becomes one of those moments where the movie seems to want trauma but mostly delivers uncomfortable weirdness. Then Loomis enters the maze. His discovery that the extended Strode family has moved into Michael Myers house sends the conversation toward family history, bad husbands, and real estate choices that make less sense the longer anyone thinks about them. That is where the episode works best. Every explanation creates more questions, and Richard and Brad sound most alive when the continuity gets too tangled to behave. The closing turns into housekeeping but keeps the basement hangout mood, with social feeds, the Doomed Moviethon archive, YouTube episodes, Richard Glenn Schmidt books, and the Legion Podcast network stacked up like one last table of genre oddities.

As heard by us

A rowdy, detail-heavy hangout on a much-maligned sequel.

This is a loose, funny takedown of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers that seems happy to lean into the movie's bad reputation instead of sanding it down.
