·3 min
In this episode of Le Interviste di Pierluigi Bonora, host Pierluigi Bonora interviews Gabriele Aimone Cat from Robert Bosch Italy. The conversation focuses on biocarburants and Bosch's technological contributions to decarbonization. Gabriele explains that Bosch has developed a system to track the use of biocarburants, ensuring vehicles use only green fuel. This system is called the Bosch Digital Fuel Twin, a software that certifies the entire supply chain from the origin of alternative fuel to emissions inside vehicles. It provides a real certificate for tracking biocarburant use and verifies that refueling aligns with declarations. When asked about assembly, Gabriele notes it is a plug-and-play solution currently offered to large fuel distributors, large fleets, and logistics vectors, with potential for future development. He clarifies that costs are not high due to minimal hardware requirements. Regarding usability, drivers can autonomously track refueling at service stations if the vehicle and biocarburant are tracked, with the process happening automatically. The system is secure, using a digital certificate similar to blockchain to prevent cheating and ensure data veracity. Gabriele confirms the system is being used at a European level, mentioning it has been tested in a tour across Europe including France, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Germany, and Great Britain. The episode concludes with the affirmation that the technology works throughout Europe, highlighting Bosch's role in advancing sustainable fuel solutions through digital innovation.
