24. Final Projects IV

October 28, 2025·1 hr 24 min·6 clips
A sewer kraken with crocodile teeth lashes out, and Connor rips its tentacle in half to defend his classmates.
The ooze is back. Wordsmith is furious because the teens brought a dangerous villain onto school grounds, which is hard to defend as a campus-life decision. Then the lore starts moving. A call toward Dr. Rahm points to his younger connection with Average Bear's sponsored superhero team, including Sergeant Mountain Don't, Prism the Alien, and Automat, who is somehow a giant air fryer. Overnight, everyone takes watch. The ooze gets personal with each teen, pulling Rowan into Wordsmith's book and showing Connor Hedgehogio's bones while Kraft mostly keeps pushing through. The comic-cover bit hits first. A dramatic report-card cover, big 80s faces, and the group's usual sideways momentum turn danger into a joke right before the water starts rising. Then the hallways become a pool. Kraft gets Glimmer's blurry hallway photo, with students floating around and something possibly stopping them from swimming out. Useful, technically. Kraft texts Glimmer to do something, which is blunt and maybe rude, except Glimmer controls water and this is definitely a water problem. Glimmer answers with a flippered gesture. The table immediately turns that into a middle-fin joke, because apparently a crisis still leaves room for marine hand etiquette. The suitcase matters now. It is a science suitcase, it keeps the bad water out, and the group treats its ridiculous usefulness like sacred engineering. Rowan wants out. She sees the failure in front of her, panics, and swims away from the ooze instead of reaching for it. Kraft reaches for it. The mechanics turn into theater, with running from something difficult becoming swimming from something difficult because the building has fully committed to the bit. Then Wordsmith arrives ready for this exact nightmare. Duck boots on, eyes set, he announces that finals are canceled and the school is no longer safe enough for students. That is good news for about a second. The bad news comes through the City Council of Jupiter and Representative Mays Myers, leaving Water's Edge Academy closed with no clear return date.

As heard by us

A flooded finals week turns the ooze problem and Wordsmith fallout into sharp, funny superhero-school trouble.

Final Projects IV lets Water's Edge Academy's finals week collapse into exactly the kind of mess this arc has been inviting: the ooze is back on campus, Wordsmith is furious about it, and the teens are still rattled by a night of temptations and visions.
