Indiecast Is Back! Starting Friday April 10!

April 6, 2026·2 min
Stephen Hyden opens the brief announcement episode by welcoming listeners back to IndieCast and stating the show's core format: indie news, album reviews, and trend discussions. He introduces co-host Ian Cohen with a joke that Cohen was waiting for a new Weezer album before agreeing to return. Cohen responds by asking if the show now has budget for a 'Wee Bros needle drop,' establishing the pair's familiar comedic dynamic. The episode's central announcement is that IndieCast is returning on Friday, April 10th, with Amazon Music as its new presenting partner. A visible change accompanying the partnership is a new blue logo, replacing the previous green one. Ian Cohen jokes that listeners can now refer to 'blue IndieCast' and 'green IndieCast' the way Weezer fans distinguish album eras, adding that blue is superior to green in both cases. Both hosts endorse the new logo. Hyden emphasizes that despite the new partner and logo, the show remains structurally identical to what listeners remember. It will air on the same day of the week, in the same podcast feed, and will continue to be free. Hyden briefly jokes about the trend of indie rock podcasts mounting comebacks, and Cohen plays along by pretending no other indie rock podcasts exist. Looking ahead, Hyden teases additional plans for the coming weeks and months, most notably artist interviews that will be exclusive to Amazon Music. The regular weekly show, however, will remain free and available everywhere. Hyden runs through the returning segments: indie news coverage, album reviews, and hashing out trends. He also mentions 'sportscasts' as a possible returning feature, though he jokes that Amazon may not be funding that particular segment. The episode closes with a direct call-to-action for listeners to find the first new episode on April 10th wherever they get podcasts.
