On Fire: Out of the Green, Into the Black
March 11, 2026·56 min·5 clips
Rick O'Rourke lights a test fire with wormwood while murmuring a prayer to heal the land.
As heard by us
A precise field report on fire as ecological care, cultural practice, and monitored science.
Future Ecologies treats fire as practice, not metaphor: a tool learned in childhood, used to maintain gathering grounds and food sources, and governed on the line by weather, fuel moisture, wind, and ignition probability.
Why you'd press play
Fire, but as responsibility, not spectacle.
