Ep 382 "Critically Umm Completely Raw Cut"

·1 hr 19 min·5 clips
Dallas beat Kansas City 31-28, and the hosts say the Cowboys now need five wins in six games.
They start with a weird emotional swing: good Thursday, bad Friday, then back up again on Sunday. A coworker drops a link and one of the hosts follows it, which turns into a money-in, money-out conversation before the sports talk even really settles in. The energy stays loose and a little frazzled, and that sets the tone for the rest of the hangout. The NBA section comes first. The Pistons get a lot of shine because Cade Cunningham is playing out of his mind. The Knicks get respect too, with the panel treating them like a real contender and giving credit to the Villanova three and the coaching. The Raptors, Heat, and Hawks are all in the mix, mostly as part of the wider Eastern Conference sweep. There is also a quick thought that a Rockets-Knicks finals would be funny. After that the conversation jumps to college basketball. Purdue has climbed to number one, Arizona sits at two, Houston at three, and Duke rounds out the group being discussed. Houston gets the deepest breakdown, with praise for its loaded roster and a warning that Kelvin Sampson still has to avoid getting outcoached when it matters. UConn is mentioned as the kind of team that can still sneak in and steal the whole thing. MLB barely gets a shrug. NHL gets almost nothing beyond a brief status check. NASCAR is basically on hold until Daytona in February. Then the room swings into WWE and the tone gets rougher. The move to ESPN is treated as a step down, and the pay-per-view side gets blamed for sliding. The closing stretch goes full hangout mode, with pain, aging, hemorrhoids, and bathroom misery turning into a long gag about taking care of yourself and not straining. It ends like a table talk that has run long enough to stop pretending it is organized. The whole thing works because nobody is trying to clean it up.
