EP 371 "Critically Mig1 is 64?

July 31, 2025·1 hr 8 min·1 clip
MiG-1 celebrates his 30th anniversary of his 24th birthday in a show full of friendly ribbing from co-hosts.
It opens hot. The hosts gripe about brutal weather, aching joints, and the kind of pre-show mess where somebody is already getting clowned for not paying attention. The title joke lands right away. That slides into a birthday bit around MiG-1, with the others piling on and keeping the banter messy. The room stays loose. They lean into interruptions, callouts, and the familiar long-running-friend-group friction that keeps the show moving. Baseball takes over. The Astros come up first, and the talk lands on thin pitching, Bregman coming back, and the sense that the team still needs help. Houston does not feel safe. They work through the possibility that the club could still end up selling if the slide keeps going. The Yankees are a disaster. Two pitchers are already headed for Tommy John surgery, another key arm is banged up, and the team is scraping for innings from the minors. The bats are cold too. George is missing pitches, Goldschmidt cannot buy a hit, and that slump makes the whole mess easier for the hosts to roast. They do not hide the hate. That gives the Yankees talk a mean little edge, even as they admit the whole thing could have pointed toward another Yankees-Dodgers World Series before the injuries piled up. Other standings chatter keeps popping up. Detroit, Philadelphia, Toronto, Boston, and Houston all get pulled into the picture as the hosts sort through who is hot and who is sliding. The episode ends in the same loose tone. A birthday sign-off, a few more jabs, and a final blast of nonsense send it out the door.

As heard by us

Heat, baseball, and birthday jokes keep the banter sharp.

A hot-day hangout sets the tone, with the hosts riffing on the heat, sore joints, and a title joke that keeps getting dragged back into the conversation. It starts loose and stays loose, but the banter has enough purpose to keep it moving.
