The whole thing keeps acting like a case file even while it stays obviously ridiculous. There is also a run of lines about being blocked by the pit, which sends the negotiation further off the rails. By the end, the episode has gone from interview to shared delusion without ever calling attention to it. The band then picks up their guitars for the final song. The closer gives the hour a clean ending after all the wrong turns. The structure is loose, but the momentum holds.
