Harry And Rachel Part 2: When True Love Dies

March 26, 2026·34 min·2 clips
Rachel told Harry her sister Sherry had died years earlier; Sherry is alive and messaged Harry last June to say she was at a spa getting a facial when the aesthetician started talking about Harry's podcast — 'I'm the dead sister, Sherry.'
The hug still matters. Harry remembers Rachel holding him in Santa Barbara with the kind of force he reads as fear, maybe even the thought that she might die and never see him again. Then the story turns. Back in Vegas, he hears that her health is getting worse after signs of a heart attack and maybe a stroke. Confusion turns into a search for facts. Harry wants the details because the romance now has to sit next to the lies, the omissions, and a husband named Mark. Rachel gives him one explanation. She says she did it because of Mark, because she could not leave and could not tell Harry the truth. That does not settle much. Harry keeps coming back to the plain question: why not tell the truth to the person she said she loved. Her answer has a weird shape. She says she tried to make him leave, which sounds possible until Harry opens the record. The record is loud. Texts, handwritten notes, emails, and elaborate newsletters from 2022 kept telling him he was loved and wanted. One newsletter even circles marriage, with a title about locations, dates, and outfits. At that point, the deception feels planned, not messy. Harry sees the contradiction. Rachel's supposed attempt to push him away came wrapped in promises, photographs, and imagined wedding dates. From the outside, it is almost impossible to square: a husband, a boyfriend, hospital stories, undying love, and no clean exit. That is where the episode sits, between Rachel's explanation and the paper trail Harry can still hold.

As heard by us

A sharp, intimate true crime chapter about illness claims, marriage promises, and one man's search for an honest answer.

"Harry And Rachel Part 2: When True Love Dies" moves from sad romance into something colder: Harry trying to understand Rachel's claimed stage four cancer, her supposed 563 days in the hospital, and the fact that she was still married to Mark.
