S22 Ep293: Interview: David Hunter ~ Timing Is Everything! (Miraculous Too!)

January 10, 2026·1 hr 7 min·6 clips
A phone call about phytoplankton arrived exactly when David was cleaning out his desk after being fired.
It opens with a leak. The host expected the new year to feel calmer, but she is talking from the middle of a house-sitting mess. Then David arrives: funny, gracious, and tied to Global Phytoplankton, a company working with marine phytoplankton for human and animal wellness. The story turns fast. David remembers his boss Tom dealing with mesothelioma, the asbestos-linked lung cancer that can fill the lungs with fluid. During an operation meant to stop the fluid, doctors find a cotton-white substance along the pleural lining and send him back for more tests. The result leaves everyone stunned. David says the tests showed zero cancer in Tom's body, and no one around them could explain it. He connects it to the phytoplankton. The story moves from a local front page to a provincial paper, and suddenly the phones are ringing. People are desperate, asking for whatever Tom had taken. David sounds almost knocked sideways by it. He set out to sell shellfish food, not become the man handing hope to strangers crossing borders and calling in panic. They give it away. Hundreds of people receive the phytoplankton for free, and David describes the whole turn as so strange it barely feels real. Then he tries it himself. He links it with more energy, headaches easing, and a candida rash finally shifting after a long stretch. The host closes with warmth, hearing in David a playful, generous way of moving through life, then tying it back to faith, courage, openness, and trust.
