Doctor AI: Reimagining Healthcare, Rebuilding Trust, Delivering Health 4.0 - Next Phase of a Project to Rebuild American Health Care Around

A surgeon secretly gave N95 masks to patients despite a hospital policy that could get her fired.
Dr. Robin Blackstone brings a careful warning. Her book, Dr. AI, treats artificial intelligence in medicine as more than a shortcut for automation, efficiency, or lower cost. The bigger issue is trust. She describes a healthcare system so complex that even people inside it struggle to see the whole picture. Health 1.0 was limited knowledge. Blackstone says medicine once lacked much of today's biological understanding, including protein folding. Then came intervention. In Health 2.0, as she describes it, medicine tried to rescue people from harm, like pulling a child from an out-of-control bicycle. That instinct made sense. By Health 3.0, though, the system had grown into multiplying layers of risk, disease, data, and decisions. Type 2 diabetes connects with cancer risk. Cancer risk connects with body size, treatment choices, and all the hidden links clinicians are expected to track. The data burden is staggering. Blackstone says medical information doubles every 70 days, and its quality ranges from strong to poor. Physicians are not mainly statisticians. They depend on trusted journals and standards, but paperwork and daily pressure leave little time to read deeply. So medicine has more information than ever, and less space to understand a patient's individual story with care. Blackstone calls that story personal health culture.

Dr. Robin Blackstone treats AI as a structural force in healthcare, not just a shortcut for efficiency, and that gives the conversation real gravity.
