Dicey Bastards S2 E16: Moog Overboard

December 11, 2025·1 hr·1 clip
Key insight from segment 5
The episode starts with the usual setup: The Dicey Bastard, Season 2, a D&D video podcast where great authors play bad D&D. Then the scene jumps into combat. Moog ends up at the center of it when Super Friendly Bendy Wendy, described as a 10-foot demon with a rocket apparatus, turns the fight into a grotesque and very funny visual gag. The room immediately starts riffing on the image as a tattoo idea, a side-of-the-van design, and the kind of thing that should be on an album cover. Moog grapples her, she runs, and the two of them go over the edge and fall about 15 feet into the water below. That does not make anything easier. The table starts sorting through the practical problems of being underwater, including whether anyone has a water-breathing potion and who can breathe water already. The demon is fire immune, Moog is still locked in grapple range, and the whole scene stays balanced between danger and stupidity. Even the other prisoners in chains and irons get folded into the comparison, which makes Moog’s entrance sound even more metal by contrast. The GM keeps the action moving while the table keeps turning every mechanical beat into another joke. It is a messy, wet, very dumb combat sequence that never stops leaning into its own absurdity.

As heard by us

A demon fight becomes a grimy, funny scramble.

One combat sequence carries the episode, with Moog, a demon woman with a rocket apparatus, and enough visual mayhem to keep each roll feeling like part of the show.
